GreenFit was represented at the Euromontana Conference in Sallanches, France, held from 30 June to 2 July, where our partner European Rural Community Alliance (ERCA) contributed to discussions on innovation and the future of mountain areas.
ERCA President Tom Jones participated in the conference as a panel speaker and joined Workshop, dedicated to “What potential for Technological Innovation in mountain areas?”.
The workshop brought together around 25 participants to explore how new technologies can support rural and mountainous communities.
The session featured presentations from Mario Grillo, Vice President of Euromontana from Calabria and representative of TAM Watches, and Astrid Weiss from the Südtiroler Bauernbund organisation in South Tyrol. Both speakers showcased inspiring examples of how technological innovation is being used to support farmers and improve agricultural practices.
During the discussion, Tom highlighted the work and objectives of GreenFit, presenting the project’s approach and its focus on using innovative solutions. He also shared GreenFit’s vision of encouraging knowledge exchange and collaboration between stakeholders. The conference provided a valuable opportunity to connect with European stakeholders, exchange perspectives on technological innovation in mountain and rural areas, and showcase how GreenFit contributes to advancing climate-smart farming practices.
